Mark_Brownlee.jpg

Mark Brownlee

Mark is co-founder, sales manager and head ecologist of Wildlawn. In addition to inventing new methods to solve problems, discovering new plants/genotypes and discovering new uses for obscure species, he also has replaced the lawn on his own five-acre property (shared with wife Iveta Gigova) with native grasses and flowers. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Carnegie Mellon University.

Fun fact: Mark planted his first garden at six years old.

Iveta Gigova

Iveta is Wildlawn’s co-founder and CEO/CFO. After she and husband Mark Brownlee successfully replaced their own five-acre lawn with native grasses and flowers, she wanted to share their discoveries with others and demonstrate the beautiful, eco-friendly possibilities of a “wild lawn.” With multiple Bachelor’s degrees and a Master’s from Princeton University, Iveta provides the intellectual and analytical foundation that helps the company grow.

Fun facts: Iveta has consulted for the World Bank, and helped launch a successful American-style liberal arts college in Europe.

Josh is Wildlawn’s project manager. While Josh’s true love is building metal art sculptures, he expertly leads teams to tackle the most demanding aspects of our projects. Josh studied at the University of Colorado.

Fun facts: Josh is an accomplished wrestler and an experienced crew competitor.

Anna_Reibson.jpg

Anna Reibson

Anna is Wildlawn’s nursery manager. She has 10 years of experience in plant breeding, working with oil seed and vegetable crops. She has done extensive research in the lab, greenhouse and field, and is now taking that knowledge and experience to the native plant industry. She has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Penn State University in biology and horticulture.

Fun fact: Anna grew up helping out on her grandparent’s dairy farm and collecting wild edible plants with her mom.

Zach has traveled across the county working on ecological restoration projects, from wetland delineations in Yellowstone to beachfront restoration in Massachusetts. He has a deep knowledge of invasive plant removal and control techniques, including Japanese stilt grass and lesser celandine, two invasive species common to the Pennsylvania/New Jersey region. Zach studied ecology at the University of Akron.

Fun fact: At the age of 16, Zach started working on a Christmas tree farm.

— Our Team —

WildLawn is a bold new initiative from a purpose-driven company dedicated to the design and restoration of environmentally-appropriate habitats. Founded by Iveta and Mark, refugees from the big city, fifteen years ago, the company has established itself at the forefront of the next generation in the crafting of functional landscapes.

Mark Brownlee, Head Ecologist

It’s true that I loathe mowing. Ask my wife!

As a botanist and naturalist, I had to find native grasses and flowers that could replace our 5 acres of lawn.

And I did. Lots of them.

Now I want to share some with you.

You can schedule an appointment with me here.

Iveta-Gigova.jpg

Iveta Gigova, visionary

Yes, I can vouch that Mark rarely mows anymore.

At first I was skeptical about a “native” lawn but I can truthfully say I really like it. I’m particularly fond of the white flowers we added to it.

I like our lawn so much that I decided to launch WildLawn so that we could share our discovery with others.

Toni Becker Portrait.jpg

TONI BECKER, Client Manager

It’s me that you’ll speak with if you call into our office.

My role is making sure that every step of the WildLawn process goes smoothly. I help troubleshoot appointments, coordinate with the nursery, schedule your work, and handle any billing and warranty questions.

Plus I know a lot about the plants we use so I can answer questions about those, too.

Josh Schwartz, Project Manager

Mowing lawns as an 18 year old; my introduction to modern landscaping. The summer routine was simple enough. Get in and get out. I felt like I knew every clients' yard like the back of my hand. But it drained me. “Why are we doing this?” I would ask myself.

Today, with Wildlawn, I help tailor lawn conversions to meet client requirements: reduced maintenance, healthier environment, and letting nature do its thing.

Zach%27s+profile+picture.jpg

 Zach Haake, Restoration Specialist

I’ve spent most of my career involved with ecological restoration projects. My specialty is helping WildLawn owners better understand and control the weeds that might be growing on or near their property.

Keeping Japanese stilt grass and lesser celandine out of our lawns is a big challenge and requires a precision approach. I’m here to help.

Ashley Randolph, DESIGNER

Hi, I’m Ashley. I joined WildLawn because I believe in the mission to apply sustainable landscape design principles to the yard.

My role is to help our team walk the fine line between “wild” and “garden.” Every client is different and I help make sure that your WildLawn achieves just the right balance.
